Congratulations to Jean Alfieri! Her newest book, THE DOG HEAVEN SENT, was named one of four Finalists in this year’s Rocky Mountain Fiction Writer’s Gold Rush Literary Contest – Middle Grade/YA category. The genre winners will be announced at RMFW fall conference gala dinner on Oct. 3, 2026.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Jean Alfieri is an author, speaker, and dog fan. When her eyes locked with those of a smooshy-faced little dog who sat inside a kennel at the Humane Society, it was love. Over the past decade, she has published over a dozen books for both children and adults. She uses her work with local shelters as the backdrop for many of her inspiring and award-winning stories. Her devotions have been traditionally published by Guideposts and other indie publishers. Jean and her husband joke that although they pay the mortgage on their Colorado home, it’s really the dogs’ house. More at: www.DogAuthor.com
